Washington Parish classes canceled for Tuesday
Washington Parish school students will get an unexpected day off on Tuesday (August 29).

On Monday night, the Washington Parish School System posted to its Facebook page that classes will be canceled for the day. “Due to unforseen circumstances, school will be cancelled tomorrow, Tues, Aug 29, for students,” the post read. “All employees shall report to work at their normal time.”
According to multiple Facebook posts, the abrupt cancellation of classes is the result of a teachers’ strike. However, school board officials have not confirmed if this is the case.
