Cyberattack closes public charter school in Asheville
(ASHEVILLE, N.C.)
A public charter school in Asheville will be closed Wednesday, May 3, 2023, after a cyberattack.
IC Imagine sent a message to parents Tuesday, saying phones and internet were not operational at the school.
School officials said they were informed by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction about the attack. The school said it may take several days of working with the agency to address the issue.
According to an email from the school, the Advanced Placement Literature and Composition Exam will still take place at WRESA at 8 a.m. Tennis and soccer will happen as scheduled
To make up for canceling school Wednesday, the teacher work day on Friday, May 12, will be a Remote Learning Day. The school will provide more details about this in the coming days.
