Minnesota is well known for its harsh weather. From record low temperatures to blizzards, Minnesota’s climate can do a number on the state’s roads, bridges, and schools. To make sure students stay safe, the Minnesota Department of Education and local districts regularly monitor the weather and make adjustments to the school schedule. If a severe storm is forecasted to hit after school is already in session, officials may shut the school down to ensure the students are not in danger.

@Austin: According to ISD 318 Facebook page:

Due to the continued extreme wind chills, all schools in ISD 318 will remain closed on Thursday, January 31. This includes schools in both Bigfork and in Grand Rapids. At this time, we expect that classes will resume as usual on Friday, February 1. Should that change, we will notify parents via phone, email, and text. All ISD 318 after school activities are also canceled.
